The Lotus Blossom Chronicles

Two stories make up these chronicles. In our first story, SIREN'S SEDUCTION
by Jax Cassidy, Niko Chow is on a mission. He made a deathbed promise to
best friend and is now trying to fulfill it. Finally, he's managed to track
Donovan Matthews-Dove- to this dive where she's a singer. And what a dive it
is. When he finds himself attracted to her, he puts off telling her what he
must and the two of them go on an adventure instead.

When Dove's parents died, she ended up in foster homes, separated from her
sister. Ever since that time, Dove has had issues-letting people close to
her, self-esteem- all because her sister promised they would find each other.
Even though Dove wrote letters to her sister, she never received any back,
so eventually, she quit. Now she's met Niko and he's everything she's ever
wanted in a man.

Will what Niko has to tell Dove tear them apart?

Our second story, CONCUBINE by Simone Harlow takes place in the
twenty-second century in Africa. The King of New Kenya has stepped down from
the throne in favor of his son so he could spend his golden years with his
concubine, Nyssa Farris and their daughter, Makeda. Unfortunately, Princess
Tarana is not exactly happy with this arrangement and stages a coup. Once
her brother is dead, Tarana goes after her father. Not only does Tarana kill
her father, but she scars Nyssa and takes Makeda as her heir.

Now a bounty hunter, Nyssa has been summoned by the queen. On the way to the
palace, Nyssa and her companion, Bakari-a teenager Nyssa rescued from an
abusive master-find one of the queen's slaves in the desert. There's
something about this man that gets to Nyssa and she helps him on his way to
a neighboring kingdom. Turns out the queen has a proposition for Nyssa. If
she will recapture the same slave she helped (unknown to the queen), Nyssa
will get her daughter back. Even though it goes against everything within
her, Nyssa agrees for the chance to have Makeda back with her. Of course,
this is no ordinary slave Tarana wants back, this particular man is Prince
Asad of the Northern Empire, presumed dead.

Will Nyssa be able to take Asad back to Tarana? Will she give up the chance
to have her daughter back? What price is too high for her to pay to get her
daughter?

Both of the stories in THE LOTUS BLOSSOM CHRONICLES deal with second chances
in life. Authors Jax Cassidy and Simone Harlow both bring these stories to
vivid life. We go through the whole gamut of emotions as we find out if
these two very wounded couples will heal and have their second chance at
life and love.

Golden Telephone

A Writer decided to write a book about famous churches around the World.

So he bought a plane ticket and took a trip to China.

On his first day he was inside a church taking photographs when he Noticed a golden telephone mounted on the wall with a sign that read "$10,000 per call".

The Writer, being intrigued, asked a priest who was strolling by what The telephone was used for.

The priest replied that it was a direct line to heaven and that for $10,000 you could talk to God.

The Writer thanked the priest and went along his way.

Next stop was in Japan. There, at a very large cathedral, he saw the Same golden telephone with the same sign under it.

He wondered if this was the same kind of telephone he saw in China and He asked a nearby nun what its purpose was.

She told him that it was a direct line to heaven and that for $10,000 He Could talk to God.

"O.K., thank you," said the Writer.

He then traveled to Pakistan , Srilanka , Russia , Germany and France .

In every church he saw the same golden telephone with the same "$10,000 Per call" sign under it.

The Writer, upon leaving Vermont decided to travel to up to India to See if Indians had the same phone.

He arrived in India , and again, in the first church he entered, there Was the same golden telephone, but this time the sign under it read "One Rupee per call."

The Writer was surprised so he asked the priest about the sign. "Father, I've traveled all over World and I've seen this same golden Telephone in many churches. I'm told that it is a direct line to Heaven, But in the US the price was $10,000 per call.

Why is it so cheap here?"

Readers, it is your turn........Think .....before you scroll down...

KEEP SMILING

Leather bound Bible

A young man was getting ready to graduate from college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted.

As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car.

Finally, on the morning of his graduation, his father called him into his private study.

His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box. Curious, but somewhat Disappointed, the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible, with the young man's name embossed in gold.

Angrily, he raised his voice to his father and said, "With all your money you give me a Bible? And stormed out of the house, leaving the Bible.

Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business. He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not seen him since that graduation day.

Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He needed to come home immediately and take care of things.

When he arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart. He began to search through his father's important papers and saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages.

His father had carefully underlined a verse, Matt 7:11, "And if ye, being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Heavenly father which is in heaven, give to those who ask Him?" As he read those words, a car key dropped from the back of the Bible. It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words...PAID IN FULL.
